Heated Patios for Brunch in Toronto: 15 Places, Real Prices and Booking Advice

Hemingway's is our first choice for an affordable heated-patio brunch in Toronto. It combines a covered rooftop with $15 breakfasts and $17 to $18 eggs Benedict. The Pilot is the closest alternative for shelter. Choose Agave Azul for a weekday brunch with Mexican coffee included.

The big catch is the table. A brunch reservation does not always include the heated patio. Baro shows why the details matter: its weekend brunch ends at 2 p.m., but its heated rooftop opens at 3 p.m.

For an early start, look at Café Diplomatico. For a special setting, choose the Drake. Skip ONE if you mainly want inexpensive eggs. Its $39 full breakfast buys hotel service and extras, at a very different price from a pub breakfast.

Menus and operating details were checked on September 10, 2026. Prices below are in Canadian dollars, before tax, tip and any stated extra fees. Seasonal patio arrangements can change even when the restaurant stays open.

Pick a patio by time, price and heating

Start with the first four places if confirmed heating is essential. Their own current material describes a heated space. You still need to secure that area for your meal.

The other rows are useful alternatives, with the limits shown beside them. A summer patio photograph proves the setting, not its October temperature.

Hemingway's: the best place to start

142 Cumberland Street, Yorkville. 416-968-2828.

Hemingway's is the easiest recommendation here because it answers both parts of the question. Its official profile describes a covered, heated rooftop that opens year-round, and its brunch menu gives clear hours and prices.

The $15 Outback Breakfast includes two eggs, a choice of breakfast meat, toast and home fries. The omelette and quiche are also $15. Peameal eggs Benedict is $17; avocado and smoked-salmon versions are $18. Steak and eggs jumps to $28, so the whole menu is not equally cheap.

This is a pub choice. Choose it for a relaxed meal and a manageable bill. If you need quiet conversation, ask about sports screenings and private events before reserving.

Weekend restaurant opening time is not the brunch start time. The menu says 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. An online reservation request also needs the team's confirmation. The venue says it holds a confirmed table for 15 minutes and asks for 24 hours' notice to cancel.

Request the covered rooftop by name. For a guest using a wheelchair or walker, ask about the route to that specific floor and its washroom. Choose Hemingway's when you want the strongest combination of price and stated shelter.

The Pilot: the strongest nearby alternative for cover

The Pilot's Flight Deck has a clearer weather description than most patios: heaters, retractable awnings and retractable sides. It operates year-round. That makes it a useful second call if Hemingway's cannot confirm a suitable table.

The Pilot Diner menu lists the Commuter breakfast at $15.25, huevos rancheros at $16.25 and pancakes at $16.25. Spinach eggs Benedict is $16.25; the peameal and smoked-salmon versions are $18.25. The larger three-egg Pilot Breakfast is $21.25.

There is a timing problem to settle. The home page advertises a very early diner start, while other site hours show an 11 a.m. opening. Neither establishes that you can eat breakfast on the rooftop at 7 a.m. Ask for the Flight Deck's opening time and the menu served there on your date.

The venue keeps space for walk-ins and directs groups larger than 10 to contact it. An event can also affect which floor is available. Do not confuse the rooftop with the main-floor bar or second-floor event room.

Choose the Pilot for its stated enclosure and pub menu after the rooftop meal time is confirmed. For an early breakfast with no phone call, Café Diplomatico has clearer posted breakfast hours.

Agave Azul: our pick for an affordable weekday brunch

745 Queen Street West. 416-667-5600.

Agave Azul confirms both a heated patio and daily brunch. This is a useful difference from restaurants that only serve eggs on Saturday and Sunday.

Its current menu lists weekday brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a 10 a.m. start on weekends. Each brunch item comes with one complimentary Mexican coffee. Check what that includes before adding a different coffee order.

The $10 molletes combine bread, beans, cheese and eggs. Sopes are also $10. Chilaquiles, made with tortilla chips and sauce, are $15; huevos rancheros are $16. The Mexican omelette and breakfast burrito are $18.

This is the better budget choice when you want something beyond the usual eggs-and-toast plate. The included coffee matters: a low main-course price is less impressive when every drink adds another charge.

The website does not explain every part of the patio enclosure. Ask whether your table will have overhead cover, how close it is to a heater and whether the sides are open. Do not read “heated patio” as a promise of either indoor warmth or fully open-air dining.

Choose Agave Azul for a weekday late breakfast or a low-cost weekend meal. It is not an 8 a.m. option.

Bar Reyna: a sheltered Yorkville brunch with a less clear food budget

Bar Reyna's events page explicitly describes a year-round heated back patio. Its current site also promotes weekend brunch. The back patio is the seating area to request, rather than a general table in the Victorian house.

We prefer this lead for a social Yorkville meal when shelter and setting matter more than finding the cheapest plate. But its public menu page did not give us a clear, current à la carte brunch price list during our check. Ask the restaurant to send the menu before you agree to a group booking.

The venue promotes bottomless brunch. Confirm the food requirement, time limit, drinks included and service charge. The phrase alone does not tell you the cost of the meal.

There is also an advertised gift-card offer: $100 for $80 with GCREYNAGIFT, available until December 25, 2026. The official gift-card checkout repeats the offer and says the cards do not expire.

We reached the gift form on September 10, but it requires an email before the cart and code field. We did not validate the final discounted total, tax treatment or fees. Treat this as an advertised offer, not a checkout-tested price. Confirm where the card can be used before buying it.

Choose Bar Reyna after confirming the brunch bill and patio table. Skip a prepaid purchase if you have not settled those details.

The Drake Sky Yard: choose it for a longer rooftop outing

The Drake's Sky Yard page lists weekend brunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Its patio guide describes an all-season rooftop. It is a stronger setting choice than a few tables beside a busy road.

The fall 2026 brunch menu is already available. Eggs Benedict and the regular All Day Breakfast are $23. The vegetarian All Day Breakfast is $19, green shakshuka is $21, and fried chicken with a waffle is $25. Pancakes and stuffed French toast are $19.

Those prices put the Drake above the pub breakfasts. Two $23 Benedict orders cost $46 before coffee, tax or tip, compared with $34 for two peameal Benedict orders at Hemingway's. Choose the Drake because you want to spend time in the setting, not because its eggs are a bargain.

Confirm that your brunch booking is for Sky Yard and ask which area will be heated and enclosed. Current pages still show warm-weather layouts. An all-season rooftop does not mean every exposed seat has the same shelter.

The hotel also advertises brunch entertainment on selected days. Check which room hosts it if a show, a quiet table or a family meal is the goal. Book the setting you want, then plan a West Queen West walk around the weather.

Café Diplomatico: the best early breakfast lead

594 College Street at Clinton Street. 416-534-4637.

Café Diplomatico is the most useful option here for someone asking for breakfast before 10 a.m. Its currently linked breakfast menu starts at 8 a.m. daily and lists breakfast until 2 p.m., with a note that times can vary. The PDF is dated May 2025 and remains the menu linked by the restaurant at our check.

The breakfast special includes two eggs, a choice of meat, toast, potato puffs and coffee or tea. The price changes with the clock:

That makes arriving before 11 a practical saving, especially for two people. Do not use much older online menu prices to set your budget.

The restaurant has a large College Street patio. Its business description on Tripadvisor describes outdoor heating and sports screens. We have less certainty about the exact autumn heating arrangement than at Hemingway's or the Pilot, so call if warmth is essential.

This is also a soccer-watching restaurant. A big match can change the feel of a breakfast. Choose it for an early, well-priced meal in Little Italy; ask about the patio and any screening if you want a calm morning.

ONE: a hotel breakfast worth choosing only for the full experience

116 Yorkville Avenue. 416-961-9600.

ONE starts breakfast at 7 a.m. Its current hours list breakfast until 11:30 a.m. on weekdays and 3:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays. That is a more flexible breakfast window than the weekend-only pubs.

The Full Breakfast is $39. It includes eggs, home fries, a side, toast, fruit juice and coffee or tea. The simpler two-egg dish is $29, while eggs Benedict is $34 and French toast is $36. Compare the inclusions before assuming every price is for the plate alone.

The Hazelton Hotel's dining page describes a tree-lined, weather-defiant patio. It does not spell out the current heating arrangement for every breakfast table. Ask for the patio's opening time, cover and heat when reserving.

Our judgement is simple: this is too expensive if your main aim is a filling, low-cost breakfast. It makes more sense when hotel service, the Yorkville setting and a relaxed occasion are what you are buying.

For allergies, read beyond the dish name. The avocado toast lists peanut salsa. Ask staff about ingredients and preparation before ordering. Choose ONE for a planned hotel breakfast, with a clear budget, rather than as an automatic upgrade from the nearby pubs.

Cluny: the Distillery setting costs extra

Cluny serves weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Its current brunch menu has French toast brûlée at $21, an omelette at $27 and a croque madame at $28. Lobster eggs Benedict is $38, and the Farmhouse Breakfast is $39.

This works best as part of a Distillery District morning. Choose the setting and the menu you actually want. A lobster brunch is a different purchase from an inexpensive egg breakfast.

The current venue material confirms a patio. Older descriptions mention heat and partial cover, but we did not find a clear current primary-source promise for the autumn setup. Ask whether the patio is open for your brunch and which tables have working heaters.

There is a menu inconsistency worth taking seriously: the mushroom tartine's ingredient description includes hazelnuts, while its label says nut-free. Do not use that label to make an allergy decision. Tell the restaurant what must be avoided and ask it to check the dish.

Choose Cluny if the Distillery visit is part of the point and the bill suits you. For a cold day with no confirmed patio table, book the dining room instead of travelling across town on an old heating claim.

Eastside Social: the useful Leslieville choice for a mixed-age table

Eastside Social's posted hours give brunch a shorter window: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is a poor choice for a late arrival at 2 p.m.

Its menu gives a group some useful price levels. Two pork-belly breakfast tacos are $18, avocado tartine is $17, and French toast is $20. Bacon or smoked-salmon eggs Benedict is $25; the avocado version is $24.

The kids' choices are $13, with breakfast, French toast or burger-and-fries options. That makes budgeting easier than guessing whether an adult main can be split. Confirm the age rule, high-chair availability and room for a stroller when booking.

The avocado tartine is marked vegan before any egg add-on. The mushroom hash contains cream and eggs, so it is not a vegan dish just because it has no meat.

Older patio recommendations mention heating. Current brunch and contact pages establish the business and meal service, but not the autumn heater setup. Ask for a sheltered table and an indoor fallback.

Choose Eastside Social when Leslieville is the right location and the kids' menu helps. Arrive early enough to eat within its short brunch service, and confirm heat before treating it as a cold-weather patio plan.

Score on King: the cheapest basic breakfast we found

107 King Street East. 416-519-4654.

Score on King is in Old Town, on King East, near St. James Cathedral. Do not head for King West.

Its summer 2026 brunch menu lists The Breakfast for $9: two eggs, toast, tater tots and a choice of bacon, ham or roasted tomato. We checked the actual menu image; the price is $9, not $19.

Substituting sausage, avocado or peameal costs $4. The Big Score Breakfast is $22, the Benedict options are $19, and chicken with waffles is $22. The low price applies to the basic plate, not the whole menu.

Brunch runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends. The menu says applicable taxes and fees will be added, without defining every fee. Ask what applies to your table before treating $9 as your total spend.

This is a sports bar with 15 televisions. It suits a casual meal or a game-day outing better than a quiet catch-up. The restaurant explicitly says reservations do not guarantee patio seating. Current primary material also does not establish patio heating.

Choose it for the low-cost breakfast, with indoor seating as a workable option. Do not cross the city expecting a guaranteed heated patio because you have a reservation.

LOCAL Liberty Village: a sports-bar brunch with straightforward food prices

171 East Liberty Street, Unit 100. 416-901-8351.

Use the Liberty Village location page when planning. This branch has a street-level patio. It is not a rooftop restaurant at a different East Liberty address.

Weekend opening is 10 a.m. The brunch menu lists the Farmer's Breakfast at $18, breakfast hash at $19.50, French toast at $19.50 and bacon or avocado eggs Benedict at $19.50. Huevos rancheros are $21.75. Ask when brunch orders finish; the restaurant's closing time is not the brunch cut-off.

The setting is geared toward a casual, social meal, with sports screens and a broad drinks menu. Choose it when you want to stay in Liberty Village or combine brunch with an event near Exhibition Place. It is a weaker fit for someone trying to avoid game-day noise.

Reservations open seven days ahead, with larger groups directed to contact the venue. The current page shows the patio but does not clearly confirm its autumn heating. Ask whether your booking can secure a heated table, rather than assume every patio seat is covered.

The menu also warns about cross-contact for gluten-free dishes. A gluten-free label is not enough to establish that a dish suits coeliac disease. Confirm the kitchen process if that matters to you.

HotHouse: choose Saturday for one plate, Sunday for the buffet

HotHouse lists brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both weekend days. The experience changes with the day: Saturday is à la carte, while Sunday has a buffet and live jazz.

The current menu lists Saturday classic eggs Benedict at $19, halloumi Benedict at $21 and smoked-salmon Benedict at $23. The St. Lawrence Classic is $18 and French toast is $20.

The Sunday buffet's published core-menu price is $37.50. Its range includes breakfast foods, roast beef, pasta, salads and desserts. Confirm the price for your date, children's pricing, drink inclusions and any holiday change before booking. A published regular buffet price is not a promise for every special occasion.

Saturday is the better choice if one plate is enough. Sunday makes sense when a broad meal and the jazz are part of the outing. Do not pay for a buffet simply because an old brunch recommendation did not explain the format.

Current material confirms the patio, but not its heating or buffet seating rules outdoors. Ask whether a patio table can use the Sunday buffet and whether that table has shelter and heat. Choose HotHouse for its meal format and St. Lawrence location, with the seating settled in advance.

SCHOOL: a late brunch window, but allow time and keep the group small

SCHOOL's weekend and holiday brunch menu runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. That longer window helps when the group wants a slow start.

Black 'n' Blue Flapjacks are $23, French toast is $24, chicken and waffles are $27, and avocado eggs Benedict is $25. The Safe Bet breakfast is $22. Choose it because you want its larger brunch dishes, rather than assuming pancakes will be a cheap order.

Read the booking FAQ before planning a birthday table. Reservations open two weeks ahead, and weekend and holiday brunch reservations are limited to six people. Walk-ins are accepted, but a table is not promised on arrival.

The restaurant says most dishes take about 30 minutes after ordering, with longer waits during busy periods. That is kitchen time, not the queue outside. Skip SCHOOL if you have a tight departure time or a hungry child who needs food immediately.

Dogs are welcome on its outdoor patio during patio season. That does not confirm year-round patio service or heating. Ask about both before bringing a dog on a cold day.

Exhibition GO is a useful approach. Event parking around Liberty Village can fill quickly. Choose SCHOOL for a leisurely brunch of six or fewer, with the seasonal patio arrangement confirmed first.

KOS: an early Kensington breakfast lead with unresolved patio details

61 Bellevue Avenue. 416-597-6912.

KOS is worth checking when you want breakfast in Kensington Market before the weekend brunch places open. Its site lists an 8 a.m. start and shows a patio.

The reason to choose it is location and timing. You can eat first, then spend the morning in the market. Do not assume every nearby shop will also be open at 8 a.m.

Two details remain unsettled. We did not find a clear current primary-source statement confirming patio heating. The restaurant's own booking text also describes first-come seating with reservations for groups of 15 or more, while an external booking listing offers smaller reservations. Call to establish the rule for your date.

Ask for the current breakfast menu, patio opening time and whether heaters will be operating. This is an early-breakfast lead with a patio, not a confirmed winter-heated alternative to Hemingway's.

Choose KOS when Kensington is where you want to be and indoor seating is an acceptable backup. For a clearly priced early breakfast, Café Diplomatico's currently linked menu gives more information before you leave home.

Baro: a real heated rooftop, with the wrong hours for a rooftop brunch

485 King Street West. 416-363-8388.

Baro's rooftop page confirms an enclosed, heated fourth-floor space for year-round use. The contact page also lists an elevator and wheelchair-accessible washrooms, useful details to confirm for the exact table and route you need.

But the weekend hours do not line up. Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the rooftop opens at 3 p.m. A restaurant can offer both brunch and a heated rooftop without serving brunch on that rooftop.

The brunch menu lists Desayuno and shakshuka at $21, ham eggs Benedict at $25, and pancakes or French toast at $19. Those are brunch prices, not a promise of rooftop service at those hours.

Choose Baro for an indoor brunch or a later heated-rooftop visit. If the venue announces a special rooftop brunch, check the date, menu and seating area before booking it. Until then, it is the popular rooftop lead we would skip for this particular morning plan.

What will brunch actually cost for two?

Compare the same kind of purchase. A breakfast with coffee included is different from an egg plate with every drink extra. A buffet is different again.

These are worked examples using the checked menu prices, not receipts or quotes. The final column adds 13% HST and an optional tip equal to 18% of the pre-tax subtotal. It excludes any extra service fee and any item not named.

A useful family example is Eastside Social: two $18 breakfast-taco orders plus one $13 kids' meal come to $49 before drinks, tax and tip. With HST and the same optional 18% pre-tax tip, that is $64.19. Confirm the child's eligibility for that menu.

For the smallest basic-food bill, Score's $9 breakfast deserves attention. We have left it out of the all-in examples because its menu mentions additional fees without defining them. Ask about that line before relying on the total.

Look at the bill before choosing a tip. If the restaurant has already added a gratuity or service charge, understand it before adding another amount. For a group, ask about split bills, deposits, cancellation terms and minimum spending when you book.

How to book a table that actually suits your group

A useful booking request is specific: “We want brunch on the covered patio on Sunday at 11 a.m. Can you confirm a table near an operating heater? If that space closes, can we move indoors?”

Ask whether the answer is a confirmed seating arrangement or only a note on a general reservation. Score explicitly warns that reservations do not guarantee a patio. Other restaurants can also fill or close an area.

For warmth, ask about the roof, the sides and the heater beside your table. An awning stops some rain. It does not stop wind blowing through an open side. A roof with closed sides can feel much more like an indoor room than an open-air patio.

If open air is the reason for choosing a patio, ask which sides will be open during your visit. The label “outdoor” does not tell you the ventilation conditions. Do not use a venue's heater claim as a health guarantee.

For access, ask about the whole route. That includes the entrance, patio threshold, stairs or lift, table spacing and washroom. Ask where a mobility device or stroller can go without blocking staff or an exit. Baro gives useful access details online; most other places here need a direct answer for the specific area.

For allergies, tell staff the ingredient and the risk you need them to manage. Brunch menus can contain nuts in sauces, dairy in savoury dishes and shared equipment. Cluny's conflicting hazelnut label and ONE's peanut salsa show why the dish name is not enough. Do not assume “vegetarian,” “vegan” and “gluten-free” mean the same thing.

For children or dogs, check before booking. Ask about high chairs, the kids' menu, space for a stroller and whether a dog is allowed in an enclosed seasonal patio. SCHOOL's dog policy applies during patio season; it does not promise that dogs can use every indoor-style enclosure.

Bring a removable warm layer and wear shoes you can walk in if the first table does not work. Ask staff to adjust a heater. Do not move or operate restaurant heating equipment yourself.

Choose one neighbourhood and keep a nearby backup

Yorkville gives you the most nearby alternatives. Hemingway's, the Pilot and Bar Reyna are on Cumberland Street, with ONE on Yorkville Avenue. Bay and Bloor-Yonge are useful subway approaches. The cluster is good for a flexible plan, but four nearby restaurants still do not guarantee four available heated tables.

For an early west-side breakfast, choose Little Italy or Kensington. Café Diplomatico is on College at Clinton; KOS is on Bellevue in Kensington Market. Choose one first. Their appeal is an early meal followed by a neighbourhood walk, rather than a long cross-city trip for a particular rooftop.

Queen West has several different outings. Agave Azul is at 745 Queen West, while the Drake is farther west at 1150 Queen West. SCHOOL and LOCAL are south in Liberty Village. Check your route to the exact address instead of treating all four as the same stop.

Old Town and St. Lawrence make a useful pair. Score on King and HotHouse are near King and Church. Cluny is farther east in the Distillery District. Eastside Social is across the Don in Leslieville, so it is a separate neighbourhood plan.

Use the TTC trip planner and service alerts for the day you travel. Streetcar diversions and station access can change. Check TTC elevator status when a step-free route is needed, and confirm the restaurant route separately.

Old lists need care. Fran's at 20 College Street remains an operating diner, but we have not confirmed current Upper Deck brunch access and heating. Other recently suggested rooftops, including Evangeline, the Broadview, KŌST and Laissez Faire, need a current brunch-and-heating check before they replace the confirmed choices above. A rooftop recommendation is not proof of either detail.
