Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre Toronto: Concerts, Choirs and Room Rentals

Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre is a working church, concert hall and community space at 427 Bloor Street West, near Spadina. Its main concert room is Jeanne Lamon Hall. Tafelmusik and the Toronto Consort are among the arts groups based here.

Concerts, choirs and renting a room

Choose the event first. The centre’s website is a useful starting point for its arts and community role. For a concert, buy from the group putting on that show. The centre does not sell tickets for every event held in the building.

Check the seat, not just the price. Ground-floor access and upper-level access are different. Ask the presenter about the view, stairs and room layout. A cheap seat is poor value if it keeps you from seeing the show comfortably.

Tafelmusik’s ticket FAQ also covers children, late entry and support-person tickets. Its usual concerts are recommended for ages eight and up. Everyone needs a ticket, and babies in arms are not admitted. Family events can have different rules. Those are Tafelmusik’s terms, so check other presenters separately.

For beginner singers, start with VIVA’s Community Choir. The non-auditioned adult group welcomes all experience levels, including people learning to read music. Its current schedule is Monday, 7:30 to 8:45 p.m., at this centre. Use VIVA’s choir list to ask about joining and fees. Don’t confuse it with the advanced Chamber Singers or VIVA Voices groups.

These are not all-in party packages. Ask which rate applies, what tax is due, and whether staffing, equipment or cleaning adds to the total. The sheet says the last booked hour is 55 minutes, or 25 minutes for a final half-hour. Classes do not qualify for the arts-rehearsal rate.

Pickleball and badminton have a separate practical rule. The website lists $38 an hour for the gym. Add 15 minutes at each end of your request to set up and remove the supplied net. Bring your own balls and racquets. Players must complete the venue’s waiver. Confirm the full booking length and charge with the front desk.

For a hall performance, read the sanctuary setup rules. Staff must handle changes to chairs and stage decks. Don’t plan to move them with your own volunteers. Ask for the room in the layout you need and get crew charges in writing. Rental groups also need insurance, with extra conditions for alcohol events.

Choose the gym or a smaller room for a meeting, rehearsal or class. Choose Jeanne Lamon Hall when the performance space itself is part of the event. Get a full quote before comparing it with another venue.

Getting here, access and what visitors report

Take the subway if it works for your group. Spadina station is just east of the centre. Walk south to Bloor, then west to Robert Street. The venue is on the southwest corner. Its accessible entrance is on the Bloor Street side.

There is an important TTC detail: Spadina’s Line 2 platforms are accessible, but the Line 1 section and connecting passage are not yet step-free. On September 20, 2026, the TTC still listed that work as ongoing. Use the station’s access guide and live elevator status. For an accessible transfer between Lines 1 and 2, the TTC directs riders to St George.

There is no on-site parking. The venue points drivers to paid parking across Bloor, by the Metro store near Robert Street. Leave time to find a space and cross the street. Don’t treat the church entrance as a promised loading bay.

Book ground-floor space if you need step-free access. The centre lists accessible main-floor rooms and washrooms. Tafelmusik confirms a ramp, an accessible ticket counter and ground-floor wheelchair seating. It also confirms that the building has no elevator. Ask about the exact room for a class or rental, since several other rooms are listed as inaccessible.

The centre’s access information also covers service animals, seating support and a wheelchair for use inside. For Tafelmusik shows, arrange access with its box office. For another event, contact that organizer as well as the building staff.
