CNE Food 2026 Guide: Best New Foods, Photos and $13 Meals

Looking for the best CNE food in 2026? Start with the Footlong Butter Chicken Taquito, Smash Burger Dumplings or gluten-free Popcorn Falafel Poutine. For a complete $13 meal, our first picks are Afghan Saffron Chicken and Chicken Pad Thai.

The official CNE 2026 food menu has 27 featured foods and 27 separate $13 Value Meals. This guide includes 26 on-site photos, every official new-food highlight, vendor locations, Food Building booths, Food Truck Frenzy picks and practical dietary notes.

Most novelty food prices are not published online. Check the menu board before joining a line. Our honest plan is to buy one real meal, then split one strange food that still sounds good after the joke wears off.

This guide was checked on August 23, 2026. We have not tasted these dishes. Our opinions are based on the official ingredients, portion descriptions, locations, early visitor patterns and whether a dish sounds good after the joke wears off.

How we chose the best CNE foods in 2026

We used the live CNE menu for ingredients, vendor names, booths and official labels. We also reviewed current on-site reports and photographs. We did not copy another guide’s wording, jokes, order or rankings.

A tasting report can still be wrong for your appetite. Heat, sweetness and texture are personal. We use those observations only when they help answer a practical question, such as whether a blue chicken tender tastes stranger than it looks or whether a drink is better shared.

Most official featured-food listings do not show a price. A good-looking dish can still be poor value. Check the menu board and portion before joining a line.

Food Building: 12 new dishes to know

The Food Building has the largest confirmed cluster of 2026 foods. It is the easiest place to compare several items without crossing the grounds. It is also noisy, crowded and difficult to navigate during the lunch and dinner rush.

This food focus is not new. Exhibition Place’s building history says the original Food Building opened in 1921 and brought most food exhibits under one roof. The current Food Products Building was constructed on the same site in 1954.

The Szechuan Sizzle Spice Cream at Caf-eh TO

Vanilla soft serve topped with chilli oil and chilli crunch at the CNE

Caf-eh TO adds Szechuan peppercorn, chilli oil and chilli crunch to vanilla soft serve. Find it at Food Building booth 419.

Szechuan pepper can create a numbing feeling as well as heat. Early tasting notes suggest the spice is noticeable without erasing the vanilla.

Our take: share one if you already enjoy chilli with chocolate or fruit. Skip it if a tingling mouth sounds unpleasant.

Sweet Heat Cloud Fries at Bacon Nation

Fries topped with Sweet Heat cheese foam, bacon and maple drizzle

Bacon Nation tops fries with an airy cheese foam made with CNE Sweet Heat sauce, then adds bacon and maple drizzle. The official map puts it at booth 510.

The foam is meant to sit on the fries instead of soaking them as quickly as a heavy sauce. Bacon, maple and cheese have a clear flavour plan. The risk is richness, not randomness.

This is one of the better stunt foods to split. Eat it quickly before the fries soften.

Nacho Affair Mochi Donut at Marry Me Mochi

Nacho Affair mochi donut with cheese, bacon and tortilla chips
The Nacho Affair Mochi Donut from Marry Me Mochi at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Marry Me Mochi’s Sweet Heat collection has Mango Habanero, Pina-Colada Inferno and Nacho Affair donuts at booth 305. The Nacho Affair adds nacho cheese, bacon and tortilla chips, with sour cream or hot sauce for dipping.

The chewy mochi dough is the main reason to try it. Mango Habanero has the clearest sweet-and-hot pairing. Nacho Affair is the version to buy for the photo and split for the texture experiment.

KD Smoothie at Booster Juice

Yellow KD Smoothie served in a clear cup at the CNE
The KD Smoothie from Booster Juice at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Booster Juice blends KD cheese seasoning with mango, pineapple juice, vanilla frozen yogurt and skim milk. It is at booth 220.

An early tasting report found that mango and pineapple arrive first, while the cheese seasoning appears later. That sounds more drinkable than blended macaroni, but the dairy-and-fruit finish remains divisive.

Treat this as a shared taste, not breakfast. Buy a normal smoothie if you actually need a refreshing drink.

Blue Heat Taki Tenders at Lucky Chicken

Blue Heat Taki chicken tenders with a cup of dip
Blue Heat Taki Tenders from Lucky Chicken at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Lucky Chicken brushes house-made tenders with hot honey and coats them in crushed Takis Blue Heat. They come with dip at booth 725.

The electric-blue coating looks stranger than the flavour. Early reports describe a fairly familiar chicken tender under the colour, with tang, salt and crunch from the chips.

This is a good first novelty for a cautious group. The colour is doing more work than the recipe.

Jamaican Beef Patty Mini Pierogies at Supreme Pierogies

Jamaican beef patty mini pierogies with sour cream

Supreme Pierogies fills mini pierogies with ground beef, spices and Scotch bonnet pepper, then serves them with sour cream. Find them at booths 237 and 238.

This Toronto mashup makes sense. The small size makes it easy to share, and the sour cream should soften the heat.

A $13 value-meal version is listed on the official map. Check whether the featured portion and value portion are the same before ordering.

Lobster on a Stick

Tempura lobster tail on a stick with dill sauce and lemon
Lobster on a Stick at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

The official CNE listing describes a tempura-fried Canadian lobster tail with Old Bay seasoning, creamy dill sauce and lemon. Find it at booths 701 and 728.

The lobster is the selling point, so inspect the tail size and price before paying. Heavy batter can hide an expensive ingredient. This is worth considering for a lobster fan, but not as a blind impulse buy.

Smash Burger Dumplings at Smash City

Steamed smash burger dumplings with burger sauce and sesame seeds

Smash City fills steamed dumplings with beef, cheese, dill pickles and griddled onions, then adds burger sauce and sesame seeds. The booths are 720 to 722.

This is clever without being random. The wrapper makes the burger easier to share and less messy. It is one of our best picks for a group that wants novelty without dessert toppings on dinner.

S’more Deep Fried Slice at Pizza Pizza

Deep fried pizza slice with marshmallow whip and chocolate drizzle
The S’more Deep Fried Slice from Pizza Pizza at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Pizza Pizza batters a cheese slice, fries it, coats it in graham crumbs and adds marshmallow whip and chocolate. The current official map places it at Food Building booths 436 to 439.

That location matters because one outside report grouped it with Food Truck Frenzy. Trust the live CNE map if you are looking for it.

One early taster liked it more than expected. We would still split it. Cheese pizza and s’mores are a large commitment when combined in one serving.

Ramen Fried Frog Legs at Farm to Fryer

Ramen-coated fried frog legs with sweet chilli sauce

Farm to Fryer coats frog legs in ramen crumbs, fries them and serves them with sweet Thai chilli sauce. The official map puts them at booths 117 and 118.

This is unusual, but the flavour plan is simple. Crisp coating and sweet chilli are familiar. Try it because frog legs interest you, not because someone is filming your reaction.

Fried S’MOREO at Legend Dairy

Legend Dairy stacks Oreos and marshmallows with chocolate and graham crumbs, then batters and fries the stack. Find it at booth 326.

This is one of three official featured foods that does not appear in the licensed BlogTO photo set. It is still on the current CNE menu. Share it after a real meal because the ingredients point to a very dense dessert.

Nacho Ribs at Bacon Nation

Bacon Nation tops barbecue ribs with Tex-Mex cheese, nacho chips, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and bacon at booth 510. Root Beer Candy Bacon is also part of the dish.

This is closer to loaded ribs than a random stunt. It will also be salty, rich and difficult to eat while walking. Get a table first.

Food Truck Frenzy: five dishes worth locating

Food Truck Frenzy is near the Princes’ Gates. It runs from August 22 through September 7. This area has several of the strongest full-meal options, but exact truck positions can move.

Footlong Butter Chicken Taquito at Rick’s Good Eats

Footlong fried taquito filled with butter chicken, rice and cheese
The Footlong Butter Chicken Taquito from Rick’s Good Eats at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Rick’s Good Eats fills a long crisp taquito with butter chicken, basmati rice, sauce, cheese and vegetables. Butter chicken aioli comes on the side.

This remains our top full novelty meal. It has protein, rice and vegetables, and the shell gives it enough structure to carry. The size also makes it easy to split before ordering another item.

Cotton Candy Waffleicious at Jerk Dogs

Waffle-battered jerk chicken hot dog topped with cotton candy
Cotton Candy Waffleicious from Jerk Dogs at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Jerk Dogs wraps a jerk-chicken hot dog in waffle batter, then adds mango mustard, pineapple relish, honey jerk barbecue sauce, cotton candy and CNE Sweet Heat sauce.

There are too many strong flavours competing for control. This is a photo-first order. Split it between several curious people and keep another meal as backup.

Korean Fried Chicken Ramen Taco at Los Vietnamita Taqueria

Korean fried chicken and kimchi in a crisp ramen taco shell
The Korean Fried Chicken Ramen Taco from Los Vietnamita Taqueria at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Los Vietnamita Taqueria places Korean fried chicken, CNE Sweet Heat sauce, cotton-candy aioli and kimchi in a Buldak ramen shell.

Chicken, kimchi, hot sauce and noodles have a clear base. Cotton-candy aioli is the risk. The shell and toppings also make this a messy order, so do not plan to eat it while walking through a crowd.

Sweetcorn Wasabi Lemonade at Alijandro’s Kitchen

Cup of sweetcorn wasabi lemonade topped with corn
Sweetcorn Wasabi Lemonade from Alijandro’s Kitchen at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Alijandro’s Kitchen mixes sweet corn with wasabi and lemonade. The official description calls it buttery, spicy and refreshing.

This is the strange drink we would choose first. A current tasting report found a useful balance of sweet, tangy and spicy flavours. The corn still adds body, so do not expect a plain lemonade.

Beef Butter Tart at Temptations

Temptations tops an Aninna’s Bakeshop butter tart with 12-hour braised beef, smoked Gouda, beef demi-glace and chipotle mustard.

This is the third official new food without a photo in the supplied BlogTO set. Beef, cheese and butter-tart filling will be very rich. Treat it as a shared savoury pastry, not a light snack.

More photographed foods around the CNE

Several foods sit outside the main Food Building and food-truck clusters. Some official records list a vendor but not a booth or zone. Save the live CNE map and confirm the location before crossing the grounds.

Sushi Pops at HK Station

Sushi rice and fillings served in clear push-pop tubes
Sushi Pops from HK Station at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

HK Station layers sushi rice and fillings inside push-pop tubes. The choices are salmon, tuna, shrimp tempura and California roll.

The packaging is the novelty. Early reports suggest it holds together better than expected. This is a useful break from fried food, but raw-fish handling still matters on a hot day. Buy from the operating stand and eat it promptly.

Space Rocks at Yeti Puffs

Nitrogen-frozen candy and ice cream bites served in a cup
Space Rocks from Yeti Puffs at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Yeti Puffs freezes Oreo pieces, Nerds clusters and ice-cream sandwich bites with liquid nitrogen in Enercare Centre. The snack creates a fog effect when served.

This is an experience purchase more than a meal. Follow the vendor’s instructions and wait if the server tells you to. Liquid nitrogen should be fully evaporated before food is eaten.

Edible Dirty Soda Spheres

Colourful edible dirty soda spheres topped with cold foam

Dirty Soda serves clear fruit-filled juice spheres alone or with cold foam. The CNE lists a blue-raspberry and strawberry version, plus a cotton-candy version with Sweet Heat foam.

This is one of the cleanest photo foods because the portion is small and the format is easy to understand. It is still closer to candy than hydration. Bring water as well.

Pickle Cheesecake Pop at Mr. Pickle

Pickle Cheesecake Pops from Mr. Pickle at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Mr. Pickle dips New York-style cheesecake in chocolate and rolls it in dill-pickle potato-chip crumbs.

The salty crunch could work in a small bite, but early tasting signals are not strong enough to make this a confident full-serving pick. Share one. Buy separate pickle and cheesecake foods if the combination feels confusing after the first bite.

Popcorn Falafel Poutine at Donia’s Donair

Falafel poutine with gravy, pickles, dates and tahini
Popcorn Falafel Poutine from Donia’s Donair at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Donia’s Donair tops fries with mini falafels, vegetarian gravy, pickled turnip, dates, pickles and tahini. The CNE labels the dish gluten-free.

This is one of the few featured foods built like a complete meat-free meal. An early tasting report was positive about how the sweet, sour and savoury parts work together.

People with celiac disease or a serious allergy still need to ask about shared fryers, utensils and cross-contact. A menu label is not a kitchen guarantee.

Brie Cheese Deep Fried Oreos at Sam’s Grill

Deep fried Oreo cookies filled with Brie cheese and topped with rosemary
Brie Cheese Deep Fried Oreos from Sam’s Grill at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Sam’s Grill puts Brie wedges between Oreo cookies, fries them and adds rosemary.

This is our dessert to split. Cheese and rosemary give the sweetness some contrast, and each piece is already shareable. It is still fried cookie and melted Brie, so two or three bites may be enough.

Dill Pickle Pegrolls at Pegrolls

Fried dill pickle pierogi spring rolls with sour cream
Dill Pickle Pegrolls from Pegrolls at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Pegrolls combines a pierogi filling with a spring-roll shell and serves it with plain or spicy sour cream in Enercare Centre.

This is the safest pickle novelty in the guide. It has a familiar fried shell, a dip and a small format. Early reports have leaned positive.

The Carnival Cone at Beach Hill Smokehouse

Waffle cone filled with candied yams, macaroni and cheese and a fried ball
The Carnival Cone from Beach Hill Smokehouse at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Beach Hill Smokehouse fills a waffle cone with candied yams, then adds a fried mac-and-meat ball and macaroni-and-cheese sauce.

The cone looks like dessert but eats like a heavy barbecue side. Sweet yams and savoury macaroni can work. The container is narrow, so use a fork and find a table before the cone softens.

Steak Barrel Pork Belly at Steak Barrels

Charcoal-cooked pork belly bites with cassava fries
Steak Barrel Pork Belly from Steak Barrels at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Steak Barrels cooks crackling pork belly over charcoal and serves it with cassava fries.

This is less theatrical than most featured foods, which is a compliment. A current tasting report noticed the smoke and char. Choose it when dinner matters more than a viral combination.

Pickle or bacon flavoured coffee at The Greekery Cafe

Two iced coffees with pickle and bacon flavoured cold foam
Pickle and bacon flavoured coffees from The Greekery at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

The Big Dill uses whipped Greek coffee with dill-pickle flavour. Pig Me Up combines espresso, white chocolate, smoky bacon flavour and cold foam.

The pickle version has a salty, briny foam cap. The bacon drink has a clearer sweet-and-smoky plan. Neither should replace a normal coffee if caffeine is the real goal.

Two photographed on-site finds that are not on the official list

These two foods were photographed and reported at the CNE, but they were not in the 54-item official food dataset when checked on August 23. The stand name, location or availability may change. Treat them as things to watch for, not guaranteed menu items.

Dot Cake Push Pops

Colourful dot cake pieces layered inside clear push-pop tubes
Dot Cake Push Pops photographed at the 2026 CNE. The vendor was not identified. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

This is the viral dot-cake idea packed into a clear push-pop tube. The photograph confirms it was on the grounds, but the source did not identify the vendor and the current CNE map does not list it.

Buy it if you happen to see it. Do not cross the fair looking for a stand that may have moved or sold out.

Twisteroni and Garlic Parmesan Pickle at Twisted Pickles

Spiral pepperoni and spiral pickle snacks coated in corn batter
Twisteroni and a Garlic Parmesan Pickle from Twisted Pickles at the 2026 CNE. Photo by Fareen Karim for BlogTO.

Twisted Pickles turns pepperoni or a pickle into a spiral snack, coats it in corn batter and adds savoury toppings. The pepperoni version uses garlic butter, marinara and Parmesan.

This was another photographed on-site find that did not appear in the official dataset. Check the stand name and posted menu if you see it.

Vegetarian, gluten-free and allergy limits

The clearest official gluten-free featured item is Popcorn Falafel Poutine. The CNE also says its gravy is vegetarian.

The $13 Cheese Crusted Tacos offer from Alijandro’s Kitchen includes a vegetarian filling choice. Eva’s Mexican Street Corn Chimney Cone uses vegan mayo and vegan cheese, but the official listing does not call the whole item vegan.

Do not assume fries, sauces, ramen or desserts are vegetarian or allergen-safe. Ask the vendor about ingredients and preparation. The Food Building can be loud, so write the question on your phone if communication is difficult.

Where CNE Sweet Heat hot sauce appears

The CNE’s bottled Sweet Heat sauce is sweet-forward, inspired by cotton candy and rated 3 out of 5 for heat. Tijuana Tom’s House of Hot Sauce in Hamilton makes it in small batches.

It costs $12 plus HST at the Drip shop in the Music Building. The sauce also appears in Sweet Heat Cloud Fries, the Korean ramen taco, Marry Me Mochi donuts, Cotton Candy Waffleicious and several $13 meals.

This is one of the few official 2026 prices published outside the value-meal program.

Full CNE 2026 food menu: every official new-food highlight

The official featured-food page and media release do not use exactly the same count. The live food map has 27 non-value-meal highlights. The media release says there are more than 30 new creations when flavours and extra menu items are counted.

All 27 CNE $13 Value Meals

The official interactive map marks 27 offers as value meals. The main food page still showed stale “stay tuned” wording during part of our August 23 check, but the live map data listed the dishes below.

The official map does not clearly state whether tax is included, whether a drink comes with every item or how large every “snack size” is. Read the sign and confirm the total before ordering.

Our best Food Building value pick is Chicken Pad Thai. It has the clearest full-meal ingredients. The Egg Club Sandwich is the easiest less-messy option. The Festival Favourite Combo is for nostalgia, not nutrition.

Afghan Saffron Chicken is our best value pick in this area because it includes protein, rice and salad. Tut’s Special is another solid full meal. “Snack size” makes The Pigout harder to judge without seeing the portion.

These are snacks and drinks more than full meals. Pegrolls is the best bet if hunger is the problem. A $13 slushie or soda may be fun, but it is not the strongest value on the list.

The best route for a CNE food trip

Do not bounce between the Food Building, Food Truck Frenzy and Bandshell Park. Pick a route before ordering.

  1. Enter near the Princes’ Gates or Exhibition GO.
  2. Start at Food Truck Frenzy before the main lunch rush.
  3. Walk through Enercare Centre for Pegrolls, Tanghulu or Space Rocks.
  4. Use the Food Building for the largest cluster of featured items and $13 meals.
  5. Finish at Bandshell Park only if you want pork belly, the Carnival Cone or a concert.

Open Exhibition Place in Google Maps

The CNE interactive food map is more useful once you are inside because it shows the fair zones and booths.

If you are visiting on the final weekend, our Toronto Labour Day Weekend 2026 guide covers other events and what is open.

CNE food prices: how to spend less and eat better

Bring water and one simple snack

Outside food and coolers are allowed. Coolers can be searched, and outside alcohol is not allowed. There are ten water refill stations on the grounds.

A bottle, fruit or a basic snack stops hunger from making the first expensive decision for you.

Look before you line up

Most featured-food prices are missing from the official page. Read the menu board before joining the line. A viral name does not tell you the portion or total after tax.

Use the $13 list for the real meal

Choose a full plate such as Afghan Saffron Chicken, Chicken Pad Thai or a sandwich with fries. Then split one featured dessert or strange drink.

This is usually a better plan than buying three full-price novelty dishes.

Eat outside peak meal times

Try lunch before noon or after 2 p.m. Eat dinner before 5 p.m. The Food Building becomes louder, slower and harder to move through at normal meal times.

Keep one familiar backup

If every new item feels like work, buy a normal fair food. A corn dog, fries, Tiny Tom donuts or a classic treat can be more satisfying than the thing designed to win a social-media argument.

What visitor reviews get right about CNE food

The positive pattern is consistent. People like the range, the tradition and having food as part of a larger fair day.

The negative pattern is also consistent. Prices feel high, crowds make it harder to compare choices and a dramatic photo does not guarantee a good meal.

Both can be true. CNE food is fun when the novelty is part of the day. It feels worse when every order must justify the entire admission price.

Do not treat one extreme complaint or one glowing review as proof. Use posted prices, current ingredients and your own appetite.

What we would skip

We would skip the KD Smoothie unless at least two people want to taste it. We would also skip the dill-pickle coffee if a regular coffee is what we actually need.

The S’more Deep Fried Slice is hard to recommend as a full serving. Cheese pizza, graham crumbs, marshmallow and chocolate feel designed for reaction first.

We would not cross the grounds for one item without checking the live map. Vendors can sell out, move or change a menu.

Most importantly, we would not buy several strange foods just because we had already paid admission. That is how a funny tasting plan becomes a bad and expensive dinner.

CNE food 2026 FAQ

What are the best CNE foods in 2026?

Our first meal picks are the Footlong Butter Chicken Taquito, Smash Burger Dumplings and Popcorn Falafel Poutine. For dessert, split the Brie Cheese Deep Fried Oreos. These are menu-based opinions, not first-hand taste tests.

How many new CNE foods are there in 2026?

The CNE media release says there are more than 30 new creations. The live food map lists 27 non-value-meal highlights because some flavours and extra menu items are grouped together. The 26 on-site photos in this guide include two finds that were not in the official map when we checked it.

Are there $13 CNE value meals in 2026?

Yes. The official map data listed 27 value meals on August 23. Check the stand for the portion, tax treatment and whether a drink is included because those details are not clear for every listing.

Where is the best CNE food?

The Food Building has the largest cluster and booth numbers make it easier to plan. Food Truck Frenzy has several of the strongest full-meal choices. Enercare Centre and Bandshell Park have fewer items, but they can have shorter lines.

Is there gluten-free food at the CNE?

The CNE labels Donia’s Donair’s Popcorn Falafel Poutine gluten-free. Ask the vendor about shared fryers, utensils and cross-contact if you have celiac disease or a serious allergy.

Is there vegetarian food at the CNE?

Yes. The falafel poutine uses vegetarian gravy, and Alijandro’s $13 cheese-crusted tacos offer a vegetarian filling. Ask each vendor about sauces, fryers and preparation because the official list does not label every item.

Can I bring my own food into the CNE?

Yes. Outside food and coolers are allowed, but coolers can be searched. Outside alcohol is not allowed.

Does every CNE food vendor take cards?
