The CNE runs at Exhibition Place from August 21 to September 7, 2026. It is worth going if you use the shows and exhibits included with admission. It gets expensive fast if you buy the wrong ticket, eat without checking prices or pay for rides one at a time.
Our pick for most people is a weekday. Arrive near 10 a.m., see two included shows, eat before the rush and decide on a ride budget before you reach the midway.

Check current CNE tickets before buying. The official checkout showed a regular adult ticket at $30 tax included at the gate, or $33.38 online after tax and the processing fee, when checked on August 23.
Is the CNE worth it in 2026?
Yes, for the right kind of day. General admission includes the SuperDogs, the Urban Edge ice show, Big Dip High Dive, the Space Experience, The Farm, Gaming Garage and Bandshell concerts. That is a lot of entertainment before you buy a ride or a snack.
The CNE is poor value if your plan is simply to wander, buy several viral foods and play games until you win. Prices build quietly. Crowds make every mistake feel worse.

Our honest advice is to choose one main goal. Make it a ride day, a family show day, a concert night or a food trip. Trying to do all four is how the CNE becomes exhausting and expensive.
Which CNE ticket should you buy now?
The advance sale is over. These are the regular prices listed on August 23.

Buy admission only if rides are not your main reason to go
This is our pick for most adults. Admission covers the strongest shows and indoor attractions. Buy a small coupon pack if one or two rides catch your eye.
Buy Ride All Day before entering if rides are the main event
The bundled adult Ride All Day ticket is $75.22 before tax and the online fee. Buying general admission and the $55 ride-only wristband separately starts at $81.55 before tax. The bundle saves $6.33 before tax.
Check the official ride list and height rules first. A wristband has little value for a child who cannot ride the attractions they want.
Use the $13 Nights offer for a shorter evening
The CNE lists $13 Nights for August 24 to 27 and August 31 to September 3. The ticket is valid only on the date selected. The online link activates at 4:45 p.m. on each eligible date, and online orders add the $2.99 fee.
This is one of the best deals if you want dinner, midway lights and a concert. It is not a good choice for someone who wants a full day of shows.
Kids get $2 admission on two Mondays
Kids age 13 and under can enter for $2, tax included, on August 24 and August 31. The offer is sold at the gate only and needs a paying adult.
The separate Kid’s Toonie Monday ride offer is 75 coupons for $30 on those dates. That offer is also sold on site.
EXcelunch works only if you can leave on time
EXcelunch costs $30 at the Saskatchewan, TTC/GO and Princes’ Gates from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday to Wednesday, except Labour Day.
Return to the same gate and leave by 2 p.m. for the refund. If you miss the deadline, it becomes regular admission. This is useful for a focused lunch, but one line or slow group can ruin the plan.
Compare the PRESTO price before checkout
PRESTO Perks advertises savings of up to 12% on admission and up to 31% on Ride All Day after August 21. The exact offer appears after entering a PRESTO card number.
Compare the final total, including fees and HST. Do not assume the biggest percentage applies to every ticket.
The corporate code is restricted
The code 2026WH9P4KXX still opened the corporate portal on August 23. It showed adult admission at $22.12 plus a $2.99 fee, and Ride All Day at $48.67 plus a $2.99 fee. HST is added at checkout.
The portal says registration and approval are required. This is not an open public promo. Use it only if you meet the offer rules.
A BMO Field or RBC Amphitheatre ticket includes CNE entry
The official CNE FAQ says a valid BMO Field or RBC Amphitheatre event ticket gives free access to the CNE grounds that day.
That can make a sports or concert ticket a useful bundle. Check the event date, ticket fees and venue entry instructions. Do not buy an unrelated ticket only because an old comment claims it can be reused.
Opening-day and school-pass deals are over
The $15 opening-day admission and $25 opening-day ride offer were real, but both ended on August 21. The free school kids pass also had to be downloaded by August 20.
Old posts will keep circulating. They are not current deals.
What do CNE rides really cost?
The CNE says each midway ride needs 8 to 22 coupons. The current coupon packs are:

A Ride All Day pass starts to make sense when someone expects roughly 7 to 10 medium or large rides. The exact break-even point depends on which rides they choose and whether unused coupons are shared.
The best day and time to visit
Weekday mornings are the easiest. The grounds are cooler, indoor shows are simpler to enter and young children have more energy.
Weekday evenings are the best budget choice for adults using the $13 Nights offer. The trade-off is less time for the included daytime attractions.
Friday and Saturday nights suit people who want crowds, lights and music. They do not suit anyone who hates lines or loud spaces.
Air Show weekend, September 5 to 7, is the loudest and busiest period. Go because you want the aircraft. Do not choose it for a calm family visit.
Opening-day visitors reported manageable ride waits in parts of the afternoon and space on the Bandshell lawn. That was one day. It is not a promise for the rest of the fair.

On Labour Day, online ticket sales stop at 2 p.m. Hand stamps stop at 3 p.m. There is no entry or re-entry after 5 p.m. Check the official CNE hours before a late visit.
CNE map and the easiest way to divide the grounds
Exhibition Place covers about 192 acres. Save the official interactive CNE map before you go.
Think of the grounds as four useful zones:
- Princes’ Gates and Enercare Centre for the Space Experience, Gaming Garage, food trucks and several indoor stops.
- Better Living Centre for The Farm, the Casino, mobility rentals and a quieter indoor reset.
- The midway for rides, games and most outdoor concessions.
- Bandshell Park and the west grounds for concerts, barbecue food and outdoor shows.

Do not cross the grounds for one snack without checking the map. A ten-minute detour can become much longer in a crowd.
The best included attractions at CNE 2026
Urban Edge is the best full indoor show
Urban Edge runs daily at 2 and 5 p.m. in Coca-Cola Coliseum. Elvis Stojko leads a cast of skaters and circus performers.
This is our first pick on a hot or rainy day. It gives you a proper seated show and a useful break from the midway. The drawback is that one show can take a big piece of a short visit.
Big Dip High Dive is the easiest quick win
Big Dip is beside the Princes’ Gates. Divers jump from as high as 80 feet into a 40,000-gallon pool. The evening show ends with a flaming dive.
Weekday shows are at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Labour Day add a 1:30 p.m. show.
It is short, visual and easy to fit between other plans. Try the evening version if the flaming dive matters to you.
SuperDogs is still the safest family pick
SuperDogs: Fairy Tails is in Enercare Centre Hall D. Monday to Thursday shows are at 2, 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday shows are at noon, 2, 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Arrive about 30 minutes early. Entry is first come, first served. Strollers, food and drinks are not allowed in the show area, and there is no re-entry once you leave.
The Space Experience is the best flexible indoor stop
The CNE Space Experience is in Enercare Centre Hall B North from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. It covers Artemis II and Canadian space work through hands-on displays, a photo exhibit and a 20-foot illuminated Moon. An aerial performance runs hourly.
It is easier to fit into a loose plan than a show with a fixed start time. The current image above shows the real Artemis II mission, not the CNE exhibit.
The Farm is better than a quick animal stop
The Farm fills part of the Better Living Centre. It includes animals, a corn and hay labyrinth, wool crafts, line dancing, agricultural games and a 100-ton sand sculpture celebrating the UN International Year of the Woman Farmer.
Goat yoga registration opens 30 minutes before each session and is first come, first served. Sulky rides are for ages 8 to 14, need an adult and require a waiver.
Gaming Garage is the best reset for teens
Gaming Garage runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Enercare Centre Hall B South. It has a two-player astronaut game, a drawing game, fitness challenges and an Innovation Garage for indie and student developers.
It is a good indoor break for teens and adults who are not interested in farm exhibits. It may not hold a young child for long.
Kids World is useful, but it closes earlier
Kids World is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It has the Enchanted Forest, a kids stage, birds of prey, Little Top circus activities, musical play, crafts and Toronto Public Library programming.
Do it early. A family that waits until evening may miss the quieter activities or find a tired child staring at the midway instead.
CNE food in 2026: what looks worth it
The official featured-food page now lists 25 creations. The CNE media release describes more than 30 new foods when flavours and extra menu items are counted.
Our first picks based on the actual ingredients are the Footlong Butter Chicken Taquito, Smash Burger Dumplings, Korean Fried Chicken Ramen Taco and gluten-free Popcorn Falafel Poutine. These sound like complete dishes, not just an online dare. This is an editorial choice based on the menus. We have not tasted them.
The KD Smoothie and pickle or bacon coffee are better treated as one shared experiment. Do not make either your only meal.
The official food map now lists 27 $13 Value Meals. The main food page still showed stale “stay tuned” wording during our check, so use the interactive CNE food map rather than that message. Read the posted portion and tax details before ordering because the online listings do not answer every pricing question.

Three food rules that save money
- Look at the posted price before ordering. The featured-food page does not publish prices for most dishes.
- Split one wild food, then buy one meal with ingredients that make sense together.
- Bring water and a snack. Outside food and coolers are allowed, but they can be searched and outside alcohol is banned.

Earlier announcements promised a Billboard artist for August 28 and a Rolling Stone surprise co-headliner with Dallas Smith. Neither appeared on the official schedule when checked on August 23. Treat both as unconfirmed until the CNE posts a name and time.
For a popular headliner, arrive 60 to 90 minutes early if getting close matters. Opening-night visitors found room on the lawn without a long wait, but each artist and night will be different.
Check the official daily schedule on the day you go. Outdoor performance times can change.
CNE Air Show 2026
The Canadian International Air Show runs September 5 to 7 from noon to 3:40 p.m. over the lake.
The lineup includes the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, an RCAF CF-18 demonstration, a United States Air Force F-16 demonstration and several aerobatic performers. Aircraft and timing can change because of weather or operations.
This is a poor weekend for anyone who needs a quiet fair. The aircraft are extremely loud. Bring proper hearing protection for children and anyone with sound sensitivity.
A practical CNE plan for families
Arrive near 10 a.m. Start with Kids World or The Farm. Eat around 11:30. Use the hottest part of the day for SuperDogs, Urban Edge, the Space Experience or Gaming Garage.
Children age 4 and under enter free. That does not make their rides free. Check the height rules before buying coupons or a wristband.
Wagons are offered at the Princes’ Gate, GO Station Gate and Princess Margaret Fountain. The official page still did not list the 2026 rental price on August 23.
Baby-care rooms are in Enercare Centre Salon 101 and the northwest corner of the Better Living Centre.
Put a caregiver’s phone number in a child’s pocket or on a wristband. Take a quick photo of their clothes when you arrive.
Accessibility and sensory planning
The CNE accessibility guide is unusually detailed. Read it before visiting if distance, noise, stairs or crowds could change your day.
Admission and support people
A guest with a disability can ask for 50% off regular admission at the gate. The offer is not sold online. A support person enters free with an Access 2 Card.
Moving around the grounds
The free accessible EXpress train runs about every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. It can pause for parades or the Air Show. On Labour Day it ends around 4 p.m.
The official rental page lists wheelchairs at $20 per day with a $50 refundable deposit. Scooters are $50 per day with a $100 deposit. Bring identification and call 416-649-2296 to confirm or reserve, because the page still carries a 2026 update warning.
An adult change table is available at Guest Services and Paramedics in the Better Living Centre.
Noise, crowds and quiet breaks
Weekday mornings are the quietest period. The final weekend is the loudest.
Sensory rooms are in Enercare Centre Salon 106 and the northwest Better Living Centre. Sensory bags cost $15. The outdoor Quiet Zone is in Bandshell Park, but it will not be quiet during concerts or the Air Show.
The Food Building and midway can be hard to move through at peak times. Manitoba Drive is paved and direct, but it carries vehicle traffic. Quebec Street south of the Food Building is paved and has no vehicle traffic.
There are ten water refill stations and no dedicated device-charging stations. Ask at an information booth if you need an outlet.
Getting to the CNE
Transit is the easiest choice for most people. Exhibition GO Station sits beside the grounds.
TTC routes include the 509 Harbourfront streetcar, 511 Bathurst replacement bus, 504B King streetcar to Dufferin Gate and 29 Dufferin bus.
GO Transit added service during the fair. Check the official CNE travel page and your live trip planner before leaving. GO weekend day passes cost $10, weekday group passes for two start at $30, and children age 12 and under ride GO free.
Parking costs $40 to $50. It can take a long time to leave after an RBC Amphitheatre show, a busy concert or the Air Show. Drive only when the car solves a real family or mobility problem.
Bike parking is outside the Dufferin and Princes’ Gates. Bikes, inline skates and two-wheel scooters are not allowed inside.
Useful rules and what to bring
- Outside food and coolers are allowed. Coolers can be searched. Outside alcohol is not allowed.
- Some vendors take cash only. Bring a small amount and use a card for the rest.
- Pets are not allowed. Service animals are allowed.
- Smoking and vaping are restricted. They are not allowed in buildings or within nine metres of Kids World.
- Same-day re-entry is allowed with a hand stamp. Labour Day has earlier cutoffs.
- Bring comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a hat and a refillable bottle.
- Bring a portable battery. There are no dedicated charging stations.
- Save a screenshot of your ticket and the day’s schedule.
- Bring ear protection for the Air Show and for anyone sensitive to loud midway or concert sound.
Five CNE plans that do not waste the day
Family day
Arrive at 10 a.m. Start at Kids World or The Farm. Eat early. See SuperDogs at 2 p.m., then visit the Space Experience. Buy a small coupon pack only if the children still have energy.
Adult date night
Use a $13 Night if the date works. See Big Dip at 5:30 or 7:30, split one wild food, walk the midway at sunset and finish at the Bandshell.
Serious ride day
Buy the bundled Ride All Day ticket. Arrive before the midway opens. Start with Crazy Mouse, Outlaw, Mach 3 or other priority rides. Take an indoor break in the afternoon and return after dark.
Three-hour food visit
Use EXcelunch only if everyone can leave by 2 p.m. Pick one zone before arrival, order one real meal and split one novelty. Do not cross the whole fair for five separate snacks.
Access-first day
Reserve mobility equipment if needed. Arrive on a weekday morning. Use the EXpress train, plan one sensory-room break and avoid the Food Building at lunch. Skip Air Show weekend if sound is a problem.
Our honest CNE advice
The CNE is not a challenge to complete. Pick one show, one indoor attraction, one meal and one thing you are genuinely excited about.
Do not buy VIP because you think general concert access is useless. It is not. VIP gives a reserved front section, lounge, private washroom and a drink, but admission still costs extra.
Do not buy a ride pass for someone who is unsure about rides.
Do not choose food only because its photo is ridiculous. A good novelty should still sound good after the joke wears off.
The CNE is at its best when the plan has room to change. A short show, a surprise band or a quiet ride over the midway can be better than the item you crossed the grounds to find.
