For five friends who want a private karaoke room and food, Bar+ is our first pick downtown. Its small room costs $40 an hour before tax, and you can bring dinner. Echo on Bloor is better for a cheaper walk-in, while Echo near Finch is worth checking for a short pay-per-song visit.
The catch is that a private room doesn't promise a reservation, a licensed space or step-free access. Bar+ has stairs and no lift. Echo's small Bloor groups usually walk in. Check those details before getting everyone on the TTC.
Prices and policies checked September 15, 2026. These are advertised rates, not a quote for a specific booking.

Choose by group size and the kind of night you want

| Place | Best fit | Advertised starting point | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bar+, 360 Yonge Street | Small downtown group bringing food | $40 per hour for up to five | Stairs; 19+ after 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday |
| Echo, 693 Bloor Street West | Small walk-in near Christie | $25 per hour for two or three; $35 for four or five | Cash only; confirm fees and availability |
| Echo coin karaoke, 5592 Yonge Street | Solo singing or a short pay-per-song session | Older rate: $1 per song; get a current quote | Confirm cash, alcohol policy and hours |
| Forever Karaoke at Bathurst Local | Adult birthday or longer private party | Walk-in rooms from $50 per hour for up to eight | 19+; reserved bookings require a longer slot |
Don't split a large room price by the number you hope will come. Divide it by the number who have agreed to pay. Eight invitations and five actual guests make very different budgets.
Bar+: the easiest dinner-and-karaoke plan for five

Bar+ is on the second floor at 360 Yonge Street, above Congee Queen. For a downtown group, the useful feature is simple: book a room, bring food and keep the singing within your own group.
Its reservation page lists these room rates before tax:
| Room | Group size | Hourly room charge |
|---|---|---|
| Small | Up to five | $40 |
| Small with extra guests | Six or seven | $5 extra per additional person |
| Medium | Eight to 13 | $70 |
| Large | 14 to 20 | $100 |
Five people sharing a small room for two hours pay $16 each before tax, food and drinks. That's the room bill of $80 divided by five. It makes a useful starting budget without pretending the whole night costs $16.
Medium rooms have a 90-minute minimum on Friday, Saturday and holidays. Large rooms have a two-hour minimum. The booking page does not limit that large-room rule to weekends. Check the terms attached to your selected room before paying a deposit.
There is food on the Bar+ menu, including fries, wings and nuggets. Listed prices include $6.64 for fries and $15.49 for ten wings, before food tax. Bring takeout if your group wants a proper dinner or needs a broader choice.
The house FAQ allows outside food and delivery, but bans outside soft drinks. Its wine exception conflicts with the simpler no-outside-drinks wording on the booking page. Get written confirmation before bringing wine. Don't treat the old exception as automatic permission.
There is no food or alcohol minimum. Children can attend at permitted times, but Friday and Saturday become 19+ after 8 p.m. A room with minors cannot have alcohol in it. Adults can use the bar instead.
Skip Bar+ if anyone needs a lift. The venue says there isn't one. Also take its small-room arrival window seriously: five minutes on Friday and Saturday, 15 on weekdays. For a deposit refund, the booking page requires at least 48 hours’ cancellation notice. A same-day booking deposit is non-refundable. Check the terms for your room before paying.
Choose Bar+ for a planned downtown evening where the food arrangement is easy. Check the song catalogue first if one particular track is the whole reason you're going.
Echo on Bloor: better for a small, flexible group

Echo is at 693 Bloor Street West, near Christie station. Its current information page lists walk-in prices of $20 an hour solo, $25 for two or three people, and $35 for four or five.
For larger groups, compare the room limit as well as the hourly price:
| Room | Listed capacity | Hourly room rate | One-time service fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Audition | Up to six | $40 | $5 |
| Rehearsal | Up to ten | $50 | $5 |
| Showtime | Up to 15 | $60 | $10 |
| Grand Stage | Up to 25 | $100 | $15 |
Grand Stage also requires a $50 non-refundable deposit. Ask whether it is credited against your bill. Confirm the tax and service fee in your final quote.
For three people, two hours at the listed $25 walk-in rate works out to about $16.67 each before any added fee, tax or drinks. That's a useful alternative to paying for empty seats in a larger room.
Bring cash. Outside food is welcome; outside drinks aren't. The venue has licensed and unlicensed areas, so say if you want alcohol in the room or are bringing someone under 19.
The current page accepts reservations from six guests. Smaller groups should plan on walking in. Call 437-595-1757 about 20 minutes before arrival. If a room is free, the venue says it can hold it for up to 15 minutes. An older seven-person minimum is no longer the rule shown on the current page.
Promotion to confirm, checked September 16: Echo’s own Instagram promotion advertises a Sunday-to-Thursday happy hour from 4 to 8 p.m. It lists half-price signature cocktails, $5 short-can beers, $5 bar-rail shots and $4 shooters. The June 2026 post mentions an extra 20 minutes for each paid hour or a third hour free when buying two.
The dated post is real, but we haven’t confirmed that the deal still runs. Ask which rooms qualify and whether the two time offers can be combined. Get the deal in your quote before counting on it.
Choose Echo when your group can handle a possible wait and wants to pair singing with a meal on Bloor. Don't promise visitors a confirmed room until you actually have one.
Echo at Finch: pay per song, but confirm the old rates

The Echo Coin Karaoke listing from Yonge North York BIA confirms 5592 Yonge Street. The venue's Instagram profile specifies the second floor and pay-per-song booths. This is a different visit from the Bloor venue.
Not confirmed: current prices and alcohol rules. The old official rate page was unavailable on September 16. The figures below come from its older indexed copy. They are low-confidence budgeting leads until the venue confirms them.
The older page described small booths for up to three people. Its choices were $1 a song, $10 for 30 minutes or $20 for an hour. A larger booth for up to eight was $20 for 30 minutes or $30 for an hour.
The older private VIP room listing took up to 15. It listed $40 an hour for up to ten singers and $60 for larger groups. Its wording overlaps at exactly ten, so confirm that headcount when booking.
The old page said cash only, no alcohol and 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily. The Instagram profile now says 1 p.m. to 3 a.m., seven days a week, while the BIA description mentions drinks. Call 416-222-0330 to settle those differences, room availability and the full payable amount.
For five people, the older eight-person booth rate was cheaper than the VIP room. Ask which space actually suits sitting, singing and any food you plan to have. The page does not establish a full dinner service or an outside-food policy.
Choose this for a short pay-per-song visit after confirming the current rules. If you need an alcohol-free room, get that confirmed too. Plan dinner separately instead of assuming every karaoke spot around Yonge and Finch serves a meal.
Forever Karaoke: a longer party at Bathurst Local

Forever Karaoke is linked from Bathurst Local's own site. The venue is at 322 Bathurst Street. Its room and booking information makes it a stronger fit for an adult birthday than a quick family singalong.
It is 19+ only. Advertised walk-in rates start at $50 an hour for up to eight guests and $75 for nine to 12. Larger groups need to pay close attention to room capacity and reservation rules.
For five people, two walk-in hours would start at $20 each before tax, drinks or food charges. But a walk-in is subject to availability. Reserved spaces have a minimum three-hour booking, so don't compare their total with someone else's one-hour price.
Outside food has a real cost here: the site lists a $50 cleanup fee for a small room and $75 for a large room. Cake counts as outside food. Outside drinks aren't allowed, and there is no minimum bar spend.
The system uses YouTube Premium. That gives the group a different song-search experience from a fixed karaoke catalogue, but it still doesn't guarantee that every requested song has a usable karaoke version.
Before committing, read the cancellation and room-size rules. The published policy allows upgrades when available but not downsizing. Cancelling more than two weeks out incurs a $50 deduction; closer bookings can be rescheduled within the stated 90-day window, subject to availability.
The site also advertises a Tuesday-to-Thursday offer that adds the early slot when you book the late slot and request early arrival. Confirm it against the date and room you want. Choose this place when the private party itself is the point and your group will use the time.
Dasha and other leads that need a fresh quote

Dasha at 620 King Street West is a dinner-and-private-karaoke lead, but we would not plan around its old package prices. Its restaurant-managed OpenTable listing describes private rooms, yet says bookings are no longer available through that platform.
An older package PDF also remains online. Neither is enough to promise today's room charge, food minimum, age policy or availability. Call the venue and get a current written quote before choosing it over the options above.
Checked September 15, 2026: confidence is moderate that the historical lead refers to the correct venue, but low for current karaoke booking terms. A dated quote or working direct booking page would resolve that gap. Choose a venue with clear current booking terms if Dasha cannot provide that quote.
The same rule applies to the claim that all Yonge-and-Finch karaoke rooms are much the same. They aren't interchangeable for this decision. Food permission, alcohol, stairs, room size and song systems can change the whole evening.
Make the night easy before anyone leaves home

Send one message to the venue with your date, start time, length, exact headcount and ages. Add any step-free access need, food plans and must-have song languages. Ask for the full charge including tax, compulsory fees, deposits and cancellation terms.
Give the group a cost based on confirmed guests. Then decide who orders the food and how you will split drinks. A cake fee or a room you can't downsize is much easier to deal with before somebody pays.
For visiting friends, a private room is the sensible choice if everyone wants several turns. Public karaoke can be fun, but the queue belongs to the whole bar. In your own room, taking turns is up to your group.
If you'd rather join a social night than organise a private booking, look for a pub trivia night with space for small teams. For the rest of the outing, compare rainy-day plans or finish with late-night dessert.
Work out the real price per singer
Use the minimum room charge, required food or drink spend, tax and any booking fee. Divide that total by the number of people who have actually confirmed.
| Group problem | Best response |
|---|---|
| Two people cancel | Recalculate before the free-cancellation deadline. A larger room can become expensive quickly. |
| The venue charges by the hour | Book the shortest useful slot first. Add time only if the extension price is clear. |
| The venue charges by the song | Agree on a song budget and turn order. A long ballad still counts as one song. |
| Some guests do not drink | Separate the room split from individual drinks unless the venue requires a minimum spend. |
| You want to bring food | Get written permission and ask about cake, cleanup and outside-drink fees. |
We would book two hours for five first-time guests. Choose songs before your turn so less time is spent searching. Add a third hour for dinner, a larger group or anyone who wants several solo songs.
Create one shared queue. Mix confident singers with duets and group songs so the room does not become a performance by the two fastest people. Choose the venue with the clearest total and song system, not the room with the flashiest photos.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a private karaoke room in Toronto?
Small-room advertised rates in this guide range from $25 an hour for two or three walk-in guests at Echo Bloor to $50 an hour for up to eight at Forever. Bar+ lists $40 for up to five. Compare the final quote, since tax, service fees, food cleanup and minimum booking lengths can change the bill.
Can five people book a private room?
Bar+ has a small-room category for up to five. Echo Bloor's five-person rate is for walk-ins, while Echo Finch’s older room list includes larger booths. Confirm the current Finch setup. A private room and an advance reservation are different things, so check both.
Can we bring takeout or a birthday cake?
Bar+ and Echo Bloor permit outside food. Forever allows it with a cleanup charge, including for cake. Don't assume permission covers drinks or that another branch follows the same rule.
Which option works without alcohol?
Start with Echo Bloor's unlicensed areas, or Bar+ if its age and stair-access rules suit your group. Bar+ has no alcohol-spend requirement. Echo Finch's older no-alcohol policy needs current confirmation.
Are children allowed in private karaoke rooms?
Some venues welcome minors at specified times or in unlicensed areas. Bar+ is 19+ after 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and Forever is 19+ throughout. Give the venue the youngest guest's age when booking.
Is Bar+ wheelchair accessible?
Bar+ says its second-floor location has no elevator. Choose another venue if stairs are a barrier, and confirm the full route to the room and washroom before paying. Our accessible Toronto guide can help with the rest of your plans.
Can we sing Korean songs or use YouTube?
Ask about the system in the exact room you're booking. Forever advertises YouTube Premium, while Bar+ has a searchable song catalogue. Send a short list of must-have songs and languages ahead of time instead of treating a broad song-selection claim as a guarantee.
